From Player to Trailblazer
Jessica’s hockey journey began on the ice as a standout player. She represented Team Canada at the 2015 World Championships, earning a silver medal, and competed in the Canadian Women’s Hockey League (CWHL) with the Calgary Inferno. Her talent then took her abroad, where she played for the Malmö Redhawks in Sweden’s Damettan league. Her years as a player laid the foundation for her transition into coaching, combining firsthand experience with a deep understanding of the game.
Pioneering Coaching Roles
Jessica’s coaching career is equally impressive. She’s become the first woman to hold assistant coaching positions in several elite leagues, including:
- Sweden’s Nürnberg Ice Tigers.
- The German National Team at the Men’s World Championships.
- The AHL’s Coachella Valley Firebirds
An Entrepreneurial Leader in Player Development

Her venture highlighted her expertise in player development and led to coaching opportunities in Sweden and Germany.
Making History with the Seattle Kraken
Jessica’s current role with the Seattle Kraken represents another significant step forward for diversity in hockey. Working alongside head coach Dan Bylsma, she has already made an impact by contributing to the growth of promising talents like Shane Wright and Tye Kartye.
