At Dulcedo, our core mission is simple: championing our talent, empowering their creative visions, and helping them turn childhood dreams into career-defining milestones. Today, we are thrilled to spotlight an extraordinary breakthrough for independent guitarist, producer, and Dulcedo entertainer Cole Rolland.
Last month, Cole teamed up with vocal sensation Lauren Paley and the iconic Pierre Bouvier—lead singer of Simple Plan—for a groundbreaking reimagining of the pop-punk anthem, "Perfect."
This landmark release serves as the grand finale to Lauren and Cole's widely acclaimed Punk Goes Princess EP.
The Power of Cultural Nostalgia
When nostalgia collides with fresh, high-level production, magic happens. Simple Plan’s original release of "Perfect" defined an entire era of alternative music. Decades later, Cole Rolland and Lauren Paley have breathed cinematic new life into the track.
Produced entirely by Cole, this reimagined version blends:
- Soaring orchestral arrangements that elevate the emotional weight of the original melody.
- Massive, modern guitar riffs tailored for contemporary rock and metal enthusiasts.
- A unique vocal pairing featuring Lauren Paley’s powerhouse Disney-princess-esque vocals alongside Pierre Bouvier’s original, timeless tone.
As a fellow Canadian who grew up with this song, getting the opportunity to rebuild it from the ground up was already a privilege. Having Pierre lend his voice to the project was an entirely new level of special.
Even Pierre Bouvier took notice of the movement, noting that the project strips iconic alternative songs down to their true essence, giving fans a whole new appreciation for the songwriting.
Supporting Independent Creators on the Global Stage
Cole Rolland’s career has always been built at the intersection of music, technology, and community. Blending modern metal with cinematic orchestration and gaming culture, Cole has built an audience of millions while remaining fully independent.
At Dulcedo, providing a foundation for creators like Cole to scale their ambitions without sacrificing artistic freedom is at the heart of what we do. From performing alongside Grammy-nominated acts to landing syncs with PlayStation, RuneScape, and Logitech G, Cole continues to prove that independent creators can shape the future of the entertainment industry.
Seeing Cole collaborate with an artist who inspired his early musical journey—all while bringing a fresh vision to a global audience—is a proud moment for our entire team.
