This fight had it all and the crowd at Madison Square Garden most definitely got their money's worth. The first round saw striking, hard punches, and quickly escalated to a bloodbath as Poirier broke Chandler's nose.
Round two saw some takedowns and major grappling on the mat. Chandler trying to get a rear naked choke ended up putting his fingers in Poirier's mouth, trying to illegally fish hook.
Moving into the third round, Poirier controlled the early part of the round with some solid strikes. With three minutes left in the round, Chandler tried to lift and Poirier maneuvered out of the slam, to transition in a rear-naked choke submission with Chandler tapping out.
One for the ages! Congratulations to Dustin on never giving up and coming out on top! It's time again for a title fight!
