Alaysha Johnson has quickly emerged as one of Team USA's most inspiring, star Track athletes in recent memory. After a breakout 2022 season, which saw Alaysha run the 12th-Fastest time all time by a woman in the 100m Hurdles and win Silver at both the 2022 USATF National Indoor and Outdoor Championships, she finds herself 9th in the IAAF World Rankings. Alaysha attributes her unparalleled drive to her journey to reach the podium to overcoming many of her own hurdles in life to get here, whether it was lack of access to resources or funds, or a medical history that at times forced her to choose between investing in her training, or investing in her healthcare. But Alaysha never forgets where her fire to overcome stems from - the 'little girl from inner-city Chicago', who saw track & field as her only ticket out and to a better life. Alaysha now hopes that she can reach the top of the podium to one day inspire more little girls and boys like herself to pursue their dreams. Looking forward to the 2023 IAAF World Championships, and 2024 Paris Olympic Games, Alaysha will continue to rewrite the record books, while writing and sharing her untold story in turn, as a leader for the underserved and underrepresented communities across the United States of America.
