Jean-François Ruel, known by his artist name Yes*, is an actor, rapper, musician, director, writer and artistic director who divides his time between Montreal and Paris. He made a name for himself on the Quebec rap scene in the early 2010s, and played a role in the rise of Quebec rap from the underground to the mainstream through his involvement in the cult collective Dead Obies, with over 40 million listens and 250 shows worldwide, as well as his debut solo project OUI in 2018, with over 25 million listens. He also played Damien in the hit TV series Fugueuse, which garnered over 2 million weekly viewers, and whose rights were sold in France, Eastern Europe, Russia and Korea.
