From the Screen to the Ring: Javon Walton Joins Most Valuable Promotions in Pursuit of Boxing Glory
August 2, 2023
Jake Paul's Most Valuable Promotions continues to make waves in the sports and entertainment world, as they have just announced the signing of a new high-profile client from the realm of acting. Javon "Wanna" Walton, the talented young actor known for his role as Ashtray on HBO's hit series Euphoria, is now joining the promotional company as he sets his sights on a new venture—professional boxing.
In a statement shared with ESPN's Marc Raimondi, Javon expressed his excitement and determination about this new chapter in his life: "I've been training so hard and working for the majority of my life for this moment. MVP feels like family, and that's very important to me. I know they can help me reach my goals in professional boxing and do it in a way that feels special to me."
Javon Walton's acting career has already been quite remarkable, with a recurring role on the popular Netflix series The Umbrella Academy and a co-starring role alongside the legendary Sylvester Stallone in the 2022 movie Samaritan. But now, he's ready to take on a different kind of spotlight, inside the boxing ring.
At just 17 years old, Walton is the youngest signee for Most Valuable Promotions. His impressive boxing resume includes more than 80 bouts in the 125-pound weight class. He has also clinched five Georgia state championships and achieved the distinction of being a two-time Junior Olympic national silver medalist.
In a candid interview with Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour, Javon reflects on the remarkable resurgence of boxing, expressing his awe at the abundance of talent present in the sport today. He articulates, "I mean that amount of talent there is in boxing right now, it's just crazy. It's never been like that -- where everyone is good. Like there's no free belts right now."

Most Valuable Promotions, co-founded by Jake Paul and former UFC chief financial officer Nakisa Bidarian in 2021, has been making significant moves in the boxing world. Not only have they promoted all of Jake Paul's boxing matches, but they also successfully signed former undisputed featherweight champion Amanda Serrano in September.
Javon Walton's professional boxing debut is highly anticipated and is expected to take place sometime in 2024. The official introduction by MVP is scheduled to happen during the open workouts for Jake Paul's upcoming bout with Nate Diaz on Aug. 2. This bout, headlining an exciting pay-per-view show at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas on Aug. 5, marks Jake Paul's latest challenge in his boxing career, where he currently holds an impressive record of 6 wins and 1 loss.
The future looks bright for Javon Walton as he embarks on this new and thrilling journey in the world of professional boxing. With the support and expertise of Most Valuable Promotions, there's no doubt that he'll be a force to be reckoned with in the ring. As fans eagerly await his debut, they can be assured of witnessing something truly special from this talented actor turned aspiring boxer.
